Red Backed Jumping Spider

Picture of a small red back jumping spider. These black and red jumping spider have a painful bite. I find a lot of jumping spiders in my flower garden. I find more jumping spiders in my flower garden area, then in my vegetable garden area. Spiders can be beneficial to gardens as they eat other bugs and insects.

A tan walking stick insect on a leaf. Every year I find a couple of walking stick insects in my flower garden area. The walking stick insects are very hard to spot in the flower garden. The walking stick insects blend in with the thin branches very well.

Tarantula

Picture of my pet tarantula. I keep this tarantula in a 20 gallon glass fish tank. This tarantula spider is very easy to take care of. I feed the tarantula crickets, grasshoppers, and cockroaches I find in my gardens. I do not handle the tarantula spider as I still have a slight phobia of spiders, but I do find spiders interesting.

Slug

Picture of a slug. Slugs can be very damaging to some parts of the garden. Last year I had a problem with slugs eating my zucchini. This year I moved my zucchini and squash plants to another area to sunnier and dryer spot. Slugs like moist and shaded areas of the garden.

Ladybug

Here is a picture of a red and black ladybug. Around a month or so ago, I purchased around 10,000 ladybugs and released them into my garden areas. Ladybugs are very beneficial to gardens as they eat very small bugs that attack garden plants. Next year, I plan to purchase some more ladybugs and release them into my vegetable and flower gardens again.

In my garden there are many different types of lizards. This lizard was in my annual flower garden area. This is a young whip tail lizard. This whip tail lizard has a blue tail, that is not in the picture. These little whip tail lizards are very fast.

Baby White Rabbit

Picture of a young cute white baby bunny rabbit. I keep my rabbits in my backyard. I have a large area that I keep my rabbits in. I have five rabbits total. I have one baby white rabbit, two adult grey rabbits, and two adult black rabbits. I have to keep my rabbits away from my flower garden. Last fall after all my vegetables were harvested and my flowers were done seeding. I let the rabbits out in my larger backyard area and eat my flower plants and vegetable plants. The rabbits cleaned up and ate all of my flower gardens and vegetable gardens.
During spring and summer, I have to make sure my rabbits do NOT get into my flower and vegetable gardens as the rabbits will eat and destroy my gardens and flowers. During spring and summer the rabbits have a area of around 1000 square feet to run around in.
