Bumble Bee

Yellow and black bumble bee pollinating some flowers. Bees are beneficial to all gardens.

Shield Stink Bug

Sow Bug Killer Spider

Pink Walking Stick Insect

Red Backed Jumping Spider

Picture of a small red back jumping spider. These black and red jumping spider have a painful bite. I find a lot of jumping spiders in my flower garden. I find more jumping spiders in my flower garden area, then in my vegetable garden area. Spiders can be beneficial to gardens as they eat other bugs and insects.

Black Cricket

Picture of a black cricket. There are many crickets in my vegetable and flower gardens. There are a lot of crickets in my gardens, but there is also a lot of wasps, mantis, and lizards that eat the crickets from my gardens.

Centipede

This year I have only found a few centipedes in my garden. These large centipedes can eat a lot of different bugs. I have a phobia of centipedes but I let them be in my flower garden as they eat many bugs and insects.

Black Stink Bug

A black stink bug getting ready to spray its scent. There are many of these stink bugs in my garden area. I will see a couple stink bugs in my garden every day.

Walking Stick Insect

A tan walking stick insect on a leaf. Every year I find a couple of walking stick insects in my flower garden area. The walking stick insects are very hard to spot in the flower garden. The walking stick insects blend in with the thin branches very well.

Butterfly

Tarantula

Picture of my pet tarantula. I keep this tarantula in a 20 gallon glass fish tank. This tarantula spider is very easy to take care of. I feed the tarantula crickets, grasshoppers, and cockroaches I find in my gardens. I do not handle the tarantula spider as I still have a slight phobia of spiders, but I do find spiders interesting.

Slug

Picture of a slug. Slugs can be very damaging to some parts of the garden. Last year I had a problem with slugs eating my zucchini. This year I moved my zucchini and squash plants to another area to sunnier and dryer spot. Slugs like moist and shaded areas of the garden.

Mantis

A green preying mantis on a red and white amaryllis flower. Mantis are another beneficial insect for the garden. Mantis eat grasshoppers, crickets, and other insects. I am always happy to see a mantis in my vegetable and flower garden areas.

Pond Frog

I found this frog in a pond. The frog was hard to spot as the frog blends in with the green algae.

Ladybug

Here is a picture of a red and black ladybug. Around a month or so ago, I purchased around 10,000 ladybugs and released them into my garden areas. Ladybugs are very beneficial to gardens as they eat very small bugs that attack garden plants. Next year, I plan to purchase some more ladybugs and release them into my vegetable and flower gardens again.

Hummingbird

I have a large amount of honey bees in my gardens, but only a few bumble bees. Bees are one of my favorite insects. The bees pollinate my flowers and my vegetable blossoms.

Whip Tail Lizard

In my garden there are many different types of lizards. This lizard was in my annual flower garden area. This is a young whip tail lizard. This whip tail lizard has a blue tail, that is not in the picture. These little whip tail lizards are very fast.

Horned Lizard

Today, I found this horned lizard in my vegetable garden. There are many bugs in my gardens for this lizard to eat.

Found this cockroach in my garden. There is not many cockroaches in my garden. This is the first cockroach that I found in my garden this year.

Baby White Rabbit

Picture of a young cute white baby bunny rabbit. I keep my rabbits in my backyard. I have a large area that I keep my rabbits in. I have five rabbits total. I have one baby white rabbit, two adult grey rabbits, and two adult black rabbits. I have to keep my rabbits away from my flower garden. Last fall after all my vegetables were harvested and my flowers were done seeding. I let the rabbits out in my larger backyard area and eat my flower plants and vegetable plants. The rabbits cleaned up and ate all of my flower gardens and vegetable gardens.

During spring and summer, I have to make sure my rabbits do NOT get into my flower and vegetable gardens as the rabbits will eat and destroy my gardens and flowers. During spring and summer the rabbits have a area of around 1000 square feet to run around in.

Baby Rabbit
