This year I have only found a few centipedes in my garden. These large centipedes can eat a lot of different bugs. I have a phobia of centipedes but I let them be in my flower garden as they eat many bugs and insects.

Walking Stick Insect

A tan walking stick insect on a leaf. Every year I find a couple of walking stick insects in my flower garden area. The walking stick insects are very hard to spot in the flower garden. The walking stick insects blend in with the thin branches very well.

Tarantula

Picture of my pet tarantula. I keep this tarantula in a 20 gallon glass fish tank. This tarantula spider is very easy to take care of. I feed the tarantula crickets, grasshoppers, and cockroaches I find in my gardens. I do not handle the tarantula spider as I still have a slight phobia of spiders, but I do find spiders interesting.

Slug

Picture of a slug. Slugs can be very damaging to some parts of the garden. Last year I had a problem with slugs eating my zucchini. This year I moved my zucchini and squash plants to another area to sunnier and dryer spot. Slugs like moist and shaded areas of the garden.

Mantis

A green preying mantis on a red and white amaryllis flower. Mantis are another beneficial insect for the garden. Mantis eat grasshoppers, crickets, and other insects. I am always happy to see a mantis in my vegetable and flower garden areas.

Ladybug

Here is a picture of a red and black ladybug. Around a month or so ago, I purchased around 10,000 ladybugs and released them into my garden areas. Ladybugs are very beneficial to gardens as they eat very small bugs that attack garden plants. Next year, I plan to purchase some more ladybugs and release them into my vegetable and flower gardens again.

Bumble Bee

I have a large amount of honey bees in my gardens, but only a few bumble bees. Bees are one of my favorite insects. The bees pollinate my flowers and my vegetable blossoms.

Whip Tail Lizard

In my garden there are many different types of lizards. This lizard was in my annual flower garden area. This is a young whip tail lizard. This whip tail lizard has a blue tail, that is not in the picture. These little whip tail lizards are very fast.
